Fast Camera Animations from NSTX in 2008

These files were generated using data from Ultra Fast Phantom cameras operated by Lane Roquemore at PPPL. Animations beginning with "NSTXcines" show a gray scale camera along with output from the Miro color camera (the Miro camera shows a "global" view of the plasma). Animations beginning with "nonGlobal" show images from two gray scale cameras. In the GlobalMPEGS/ directory you will find MPEGs of just the Global view from the Miro color camera.

Play the movies in your web browser, if it is configured to play MPEGs, or right-click on a file, and down-load it to your computer.

If you want to make your own movies from two cameras (if you can find them in one of the newer directories beneath /p/nstxcam-archive), experiment with anim2cine.pro: 

   IDL> anim2cine, shot=130388, /view, t1=0.2, t2=0.5

For MPEGs of a single .cin file, try cine2mpeg.pro, e.g., 

   IDL> cine2mpeg, shot=130277, t1=0.100, t2=0.200, /verbose, /view

For more control, you may examine individual camera files with fcplayer.pro.

To quickly see what data is available for shot nnnnnn, type 

   findufc nnnnnn

To see what shots may interest you, search and view the NSTX Logbook with Plot Summaries or search databases, as with searchefitdb.html.
