Spectral Fit Plots for NSTX Toroidal Mode Numbers

The files in these directories are pdf files showing MHD spectrum for various toroidal mode numbers, vs. time for NSTX shots.

These files are produced by a code by Jon Menard.

After some period, shots are moved into subdirectories. For example, all shots between 117700 and 117799 would be in subdirectory 117700s, which, in turn would be in subdirectory 2005.

If you want to make your own plots with different axes limits do something like the following in IDL, where you supply t1,t2,f1,f2, & shot: 

   IDL> @/u/bdavis/SpecFit/setup_mode
   IDL> restore, '/u/bdavis/SpecFit/modespecstrc.sav'

   IDL> t1=.0  &  t2=1.0  &  f1=0.  &  f2 = 200.  &  shot=119874

   IDL> mhd_mode_spectrum, shot,                                 $
                           tmin=t1, tmax= t2, fmin=f1, fmax=f2,  $
                           noview=strc.noview, highn=strc.highn, $
                           highf=strc.highf, nmodes=strc.nmodes, $
                           tinterv=strc.tinterv, frac=strc.frac, $
                           tol=strc.tol, outDir='~/', /pdf,      $
                           doneEvent='NONE', xout=0

   (Defaults are:)
   tinter = 0.001   ; Time interval for FFT 
   frac   = 0.002   ; fraction of maximum FFT amplitude with n calculation
   tol    = 0.4     ; Amplitude threshold for assigning a mode number
both the .pdf and .ps will be in your home directory (outDir).
